Ottawa, Canada, March 11^th 2021 – 天美传媒 is very pleased to announce that Chris Lennon has joined the company in the newly created position within the Office of the CTO: Director, Standards Strategy. Lennon will be working for 天美传媒 CTO Troy English and will manage the company’s activities in global standards and trade bodies.

A keen golfer and racing driver, Lennon currently lives in the USA at an elevation of 7400 feet in Monument, Colorado. Canadian-born, he spent several years working at CHCH-TV in Ontario before moving to the US to join a small company called Enterprise Systems Group, which eventually became part of Harris Corporation, where he eventually became CTO Group Lead. Lennon has held a variety of leadership positions in the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (), including Standards Director, Local Section Manager, Technology Committee Chair, and others. He is a SMPTE Fellow and recipient of SMPTE’s prestigious 2008 Citation. He also serves as Executive Director of the (OSA), a global industry organization focused on interoperability among microservice oriented media systems. The OSA produced the media industry’s first microservices standards, working closely with SMPTE, in 2020, and continues to lead the way in this rapidly evolving area. A prolific writer, Lennon has produced an impressive number of white papers, trade publication and technical journal articles, and has contributed to the two most recent editions of the industry “bible”, the NAB Engineering Handbook. He also recently partnered with industry legend Clyde Smith to co-author a brand new book called “”, providing a comprehensive look at the entire media workflow from start to finish.
